These pages contain the records of burials in the grounds of St Peters Church Maxey, based on a survey of inscriptions on headstones by W. D. Sweeting, Vicar of St. Peters, 1881-1901, plus the deaths in the current register. The dates in the far right column of the archives are either the date of death or the date of burial. I am including where possible the inscriptions on the headstones as recorded by Rev. Sweeting, or taken from later but legible headstones in the Churchyard. Please note that this is a laborious task and will take some time to complete. The author of this site accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies. Please note that these names are not an exhaustive record of burials in the churchyard. Why not visit them at Wootton Hall Park, Northampton. They have records of burials, baptisms, marriages, births and deaths for St. Peters going back many years. 

You can now view a schematic Excel file of the Churchyard which lists all the headstone positions and who is buried in which plot. All the headstones are included but the comments for the headstones post 1900 are in the process of being completed. The last update was uploaded on 16/10/2009.
